- The Objective: Form an unbroken, water-tight conduit between the green Source Pump and the red Outflow Drain.
- Pipe Geometries:
- Straight Pipes: Connect opposite ends (Up-Down or Left-Right). Has 2 effective orientations.
- Elbow / Corner Pipes: Connect two adjacent 90-degree directions. Has 4 rotational orientations.
- T-Junction Pipes: Connect 3 directions simultaneously, allowing water diversion and multi-branch networks.
- Cross Pipes: Connect all 4 directions, allowing overlapping horizontal and vertical streams.
- Interactive Rotation: Left-click or tap any pipe tile to rotate it 90 degrees clockwise. On desktop, right-click to rotate 90 degrees counter-clockwise.
- Real-Time Water Fill: As soon as a pipe connects properly to the Source, it lights up with glowing blue water. When the stream reaches the Drain, the circuit pressurizes and triggers victory!

1. Boundary & Wall Pruning
The most reliable starting technique: look at tiles bordering outer board edges. A pipe sitting on the top wall can never connect upward! This instantly rules out 2 of the 4 rotations for elbows and forces straight pipes to lie horizontally.
2. Bidirectional Tracing (Sink to Source)
Most beginners only trace forward from the Source. Instead, check the Drain tile! The drain points in one fixed direction, which immediately dictates the required orientation of its neighboring tile. Working backwards eliminates half the board in seconds.
3. Corner Locks
Corner grid cells (except the start and finish) only have two available neighbors inside the board. Therefore, any corner tile must be an elbow pointing toward the interior! If a corner tile has a straight pipe, it is decorative and cannot carry the main flow.
4. Parity & Loop Prevention
Avoid creating closed circular loops that waste valuable elbows. A closed 4-pipe loop traps water in an infinite eddy and deprives the main pipeline of the corners needed to reach the opposite corner.
