Catapult Master: Medieval Siege Artillery Simulator
Take command of heavy medieval counterweight artillery in Catapult Master! Step onto historic battlefields and adjust your winch tension, calibrate elevation launch angles, and compensate for dynamic crosswinds. Fling massive granite boulders, incendiary pitchbombs, and fragmentation shrapnel across castle moats to shatter stone ramparts, collapse wooden watchtowers, and eliminate defending garrison commanders in this authentic HTML5 ballistic destruction game.
Catapult Master
Calibrate elevation and winch power. Demolish the enemy fortress before your siege stones run out!
Catapult Master: Ballistic Trajectory Tactics & Fortress Demolition
Catapult Master resurrects the tactical thrills of medieval siege warfare through authentic physics simulation. You oversee a massive wooden counterweight trebuchet positioned outside heavily fortified castle keeps. Your strategic mission is total structural collapse: target load-bearing foundations, topple archer turrets, and detonate powder magazines while wrestling with shifting atmospheric crosswinds and finite munitions.
How to Play: Step-by-Step Siege Warfare
Inspect Castle & Wind
Read the wind indicator in the HUD. A right arrow signifies tailwind (assisting reach), while a left arrow demands higher launch force.
Calibrate Angle & Power
Click and drag the catapult throwing arm backward to dial elevation angle and tension power, or hold the Fire button to wind the winch.
Select Ammunition
Switch between heavy granite boulders for base strikes, incendiary firebombs for cluster damage, or scatter shot for airborne spread.
Shatter Structural Joints
Target low support pillars to induce catastrophic secondary collapses. Crush all enemy defensive targets to unlock the next citadel.
Ballistic Mechanics & Projectile Dynamics
Mastering projectile flight in Catapult Master requires understanding core Newtonian mechanics:
- Parabolic Trajectory: Every shot follows a classical gravitational parabola. In vacuum, 45 degrees yields maximum range. However, with opposing headwinds, a flatter 35-degree angle penetrates wind barriers with higher kinetic force.
- Kinetic Energy & Damage Formula: Damage inflicted upon contact is proportional to mass multiplied by velocity squared (\(E_k = \frac{1}{2} m v^2\)). High arc plunge strikes maximize vertical crushing damage on parapets, while flat direct impacts punch through exterior walls.
- Chain Reaction Collapses: Wooden trusses collapse under bending stress, sending tumbling masonry into lower support beams. Triggering a single lower-tier pillar often topples the entire upper fortress.
Three Calibrated Difficulty Levels
- Easy Mode (Cadet Artillery): 5 boulders per castle, continuous dotted parabolic trajectory arc, gentle crosswinds, and reduced fortress block durability.
- Medium Mode (Siege Veteran): 4 boulders per castle, partial trajectory arc preview (first 25% of flight), realistic wind gusts, and standard stone hardness.
- Hard Mode (Grand Marshal): 3 boulders per castle, zero trajectory guidelines (pure visual estimation), turbulent shifting gales, and reinforced iron-braced fortifications.
